Ray Santisi Trio @ Ryles Jazz Club, February 1st

Ryles Jazz Club proudly presents the Ray Santisi Trio with Dave Zox (bass), Gary Johnson (drums) and Ray (piano), this Tuesday evening, February 1st at 8:30pm.

“As anyone familiar with the Boston scene knows, there are few things finer than hearing Ray take on an acoustic piano. This night, he decided to put on a clinic. It was a master indulging in the sheer joy of tackling the possibilities (maybe the impossibilities)...

Gifted at assembling the right team of musicians who draw jazz aficionados, Santisi brings new business wherever he books. His following is loyal to his repertoire and his mastery. Santisi combines protégés and legends side-by-side on his bandstand and can be counted on to lead his group with originality and precision. He is a demanding music director and bandleader and all musicians say “yes” when he calls.

Ray Santisi, pianist/arranger/composer, is an internationally known jazz composer, arranger and bandleader who has played as featured soloist with Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, Mel Torme, Irene Kral, Natalie Cole, and countless other well-known jazz greats. Santisi is professor of piano and harmony at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He taught at Stan Kenton's jazz clinics throughout the US, performing in Europe, Scandinavia, and Asia. An alumnus of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory, Professor Santisi has published Berklee, Jazz Piano through Hal Leonard Publishers in collaboration with Berklee.
