    FIREBIRD premiered in 1910 at the Paris Opera House, directed by Gabriel Pierné. The ballet was an immediate success. THE WEDDING (LES NOCES) This ballet in four scenes recounts the entire story of a Russian peasant wedding. Stravinsky used traditional folk texts to compose THE WEDDING. THE RITE OF SPRING (LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS) Stravinsky further develops the rhythm and harmony he had already experimented with in his first two ballets.
