February 23, 2011
Add Review/Comment
Known for his pioneering work in color photography, Stephen Shore sold his first photographs to Edward Steichen, then a curator at MoMA, at the age of 12. Since then he has photographed Andy Warhol’s Factory, deadpan scenes of American life, and still lifes while experimenting with various color photography methods. A photographer’s photographer, Nan Goldin, Andreas Gursky, and Thomas Struth have all acknowledged Shore’s influence on their work.
