Maps of Time: Free February Vacation Week Program
February 22 - February 25, 2011
Did you know that the Mapparium at The Mary Baker Eddy Library is frozen in time? This three-story stained-glass globe was completed in 1935 and has not been changed since, making the map of political boundaries and country names accurate only to that time period. There are many ways to map out periods of time!
During February vacation week, from February 22 – 25, the Library will host a free educational program with activities to engage youth and their families with the concept of visually creating maps of time, through timelines, sequence, and chronology. Children will be invited to tour Library exhibits, including the Mapparium, and learn more about the events in Mary Baker Eddy's life and the world during the nineteenth century. All visitors 17 and under will receive free admission.
