“Not Celtic” Fiddle with Kimber Ludiker
March 9 - April 13, 2011
Intermediate "Not-Celtic" fiddle class from the current National Oldtime Fiddle Champion, Kimber Ludiker. Although a lover of all things Celtic (she has toured with Riverdance's Michael Londra), Kimber will take this opportunity to round-out your fiddle repertoire with tunes from a variety of fiddling styles including: bluegrass, oldtime, texas-style, western swing, new acoustic, and some fun rhythmic accompaniment. Kimber has been fiddling since age three, is a member of local "contemporary folkgrass" band Broken Blossoms, and is an avid haver-of-FUN.
Kimber began fiddling at the age of three years, and at the age of four was named the youngest fiddler at the National Old-Time Fiddle Contest in Weiser, Idaho. Kimber has continued playing fiddle since then, also adding acoustic guitar and tenor guitar to her repertoire. She was the National Junior Champion in 2000, and in 2001 she went on to place in the top 10 of the Grand National Division.
