DANCE

BU's Dance Program invites teens age 13-18 who aspire to dance, choreograph and perform to audition for the REACH Summer Outreach/Teen Apprenticeship program. The audition will consist of a modern warm-up covering some basic ballet technique, followed by a hip-hop jazz combination. If dancers have choreographic material that they would like to show, they should bring their music and be prepared to perform. Shoes are optional for the audition class.

The audition is for students who are proficient in at least one style of dance (ballet, modern, jazz, tap), willing to learn other styles, and are cooperative learners. Selected students will work with professional dancers to create a performance and perform at 11 sites around Boston. The program runs from June 27 – July 22, 2011.
