    The Boston New Music Initiative, Inc. is pleased to announce the program for its February concert of new works for strings. Saturday, February 26 at 7:30 pm First Church 66 Marlborough Street Boston, MA The program will include •Arvo Pärt - Fratres for string orchestra and percussion featuring violin soloist Lilit Hartunian •Daniel Pesca - Apollonian Hymns and Dances (string orchestra) •Chad Gray - Reddish Blue (string orchestra) •Ian Munro - Hymn (string quartet) •Leaha Maria Villarreal - RISE (string quartet) •Moon Young Ha - Fairy Tale (flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano) •Jeff Myers - Makassar Strait (bass clarinet, vibraphone, piano, violin, and cello) All works with the exception of Fratres were selected from the organization’s international call for scores.

    Tickets ($10) purchased online before February 24 will receive a 20% discount and will also be available at the door. The Boston New Music Initiative, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining an international network of composers, performers, conductors, directors, and champions of music in order to generate new music concerts, compositions, collaborations, and commissions. Incorporated in 2010, the organization aims to advance the careers of its members in the field of new music by serving as a resource for networking, commissioning, collaboration, and programming. http://www.bostonnewmusic.org
