"In Leaf", Margaret Swan’s exhibition of new concrete sculpture is a departure from her work in sheet metal, her principle medium for many years. Inspired by the structure and rhythms of natural forms, Swan creates layering planes of light and shadow in her new multi-part concrete sculptures. Laura Evans’ exhibition, "White Noise" will feature new sculptures in permeable forms. The current work has grown out of Evans’ past exploration of pipes, gestural tube forms and plumbing systems with implied function, which conflate the human body and architectural structures. The public is invited to an opening reception on Saturday, March 19 from 3-6 pm and a SOWA First Friday reception on April 1 from 5-8 pm. All receptions are free and open to the public. Boston Sculptors Gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 6 p.m.
