Add Review/Comment
Québecois filmmaker Denis Côté seems to be on the verge of finally breaking through to U.S. audiences with Curling’s premiere earlier this month in Lincoln Center Film Society’s prestigious New Directors/New Films Festival. Set on the fringe of society, in rural Quebec in the dead of winter, Curling takes a keen look at the fragile relationship between a single father and his daughter, their unusual private life marked by his extraordinary attempts to shield the young girl from harm by keeping her in extreme isolation from the world.
