We Got the Beat: An Evening of Rhythmic Dancing
Presented by Corcairdhearg: The Harvard College Irish Dancers at Lowell Lecture Hall
April 2, 2011
Come enjoy an evening of toe-tapping, feet-stomping rhythmic dancing presented by Harvard's first and only Irish dancing group, Corcairdhearg: The Harvard College Irish Dancers. Founded in 2008, Corcairdhearg (pronounced core-key-air-egg) is named after the Gaelic word for Crimson, and keeps it reel on campus by performing an exciting blend of traditional and modern Irish dancing. You don't know rhythm until you've seen Corcairdhearg--their footwork has been described as possessing an "amazing technical precision" and an "almost inhuman synchronization." Guest performers include Irish dancing groups from Boston College, Boston University, MIT, and Tufts University, as well as Expressions Dance Company, TAPS, The Harvard Undergraduate Drummers and more.
