Mission Hill and the Miracle of Boston Screening
March 23, 2011
Add Review/Comment
This classic 1978 film documents urban renewal through the voices of residents, community activists, and developers. Mission Hill's social history is set against the larger forces that reshaped Boston in the 1970's.
All are welcome to attend this screening and the panel discussion that will follow. Panelists will include producer of the film John Grady, as well as Mission Hill community residents and leaders. We will explore how the issues raised in the film— urban renewal, class, race, politics, education, power, and immigration—continue to be relevant in our present day. Refreshments will be served prior to the screening at 5:30 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Center for Art and Community Partnerships at MassArt; Friends of Parker Hill Branch Library; and the Center for Community & Learning Partnerships at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
