    Youth String Orchestra: Two Week Summer Day Program

    Join the NSM string and piano faculty for a two week musical journey of exciting repertoire. This full, day-long, program will allow participants to take part in orchestra rehearsals, sectionals, chamber ensembles and music theory. Piano students will have the opportunity to participate in choir classes and all students will take part in improvisational jazz elements in theory class.     Join the NSM string and piano faculty for a two week musical journey of exciting repertoire. This full, day-long, program will allow participants to take part in orchestra rehearsals, sectionals, chamber ensembles and music theory. Piano students will have the opportunity to participate in choir classes and all students will take part in improvisational jazz elements in theory class. Program will culminate in a final performance for family and friends.

    Open to violin, viola, cello, bass and piano students ages 7-18 years old.

    The camp is designed for string students playing at Suzuki Book Level 2 and above; all participants must be able to read music and play a two octave scale. Placement auditions are required and will be scheduled after registration is received.

    Dates: July 25 - August 5, 2011
    Times: Monday - Friday, 9-3pm; before and after care available
    Ages: 7-18
    Fee: $775
