    Tony will be covering a wide range of topics, including:
    1. How to get a "Professional" sound
    a. working with a metronome
    b. using separation of notes'
    c. generating good tone
    d. how to avoid hitting the head, etc.
    2. Playing the syllables. How to really play the melody. Discussing how this applies to Earl Scruggs and John Hartford. How it applies to playing up the neck and playing out of different keys without a capo. This will transform your playing.
    3. Playing Back-Up. From beginning to advanced, Earl to JD Crowe.
    4. Fundamentals of the melodic and single string styles
    5. Hints for Improvisation.
    a. Be willing to jump off a musical cliff
    b. stringing together Scruggs licks.
    c. Use chords as a jumping off point.
    These topics will all be explored in depth. This is just a skeletal outline. The workshop will be for beginning through advanced players. Participants are encouraged to bring either audio or video recording devices.
