“Animation at Harvard: Unlimited Possibilities”
Presented by Harvard Allston Education Portal
April 25, 2011
How do you make images come to life? What are the basic techniques used in animation? What are the special powers of the medium? Ruth Lingford, Professor of the Practice of Animation and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Harvard Department of Visual and Environmental Studies, will talk about why animation is taught, how it complements and interacts with other disciplines, and how it can be used to communicate ideas. Lingford’s presentation will be illustrated with examples of students’ work featuring a variety of animation techniques and subjects.
