This celebratory program features music from around the world honoring Mother Earth and the yearning for homeland. Songs include Malcolm Dalgleish's homage to the planet," Walking in the Cradle of Our Land," Eric Whitacre's breathtakingly beautiful "Seal Lullaby," Frank Tichelli's "Earth Song," and Paul Simon's "April Come She Will." The music will be interspersed with readings about nature from Henry David Thoreau. From rousing spirituals to Japanese folk songs and lively South African pieces, to Patty Griffin's stirring "Up to the Mountain," the Halalisa Singers usher in the season of new beginnings with beauty, joy, celebration, and reverence.
