  You can travel a lot farther, spend a whole lot more money on tickets but you won't find an experience in Musical Theater any where in the world that is any better, more enjoyable, satisfying than the offerings at The North Shore Music Theater. Currently TARZAN is on stage and it is a heart winner. The cast is absolutely first rate, splendid. The show moves very fast and is full of illusion and physicality along with great acting, singing, dancing. The clever magical way of a theater in the round is a plus in enjoying theater pure and creative--relying on the actor and his craft. It is organic and real with an integrity in place that can sometimes get lost in special effects. TARZAN has a message, a moral, a reminder of things we need to hear again and again as creatures upon this planet. I laughed, I cried, I ah-ed and oh-ed and bravo-ed and I along with everyone else spontaneously in unison stood to deliver a standing ovation at the end which came much too soon. Gorilla Great.   I saw Tarzan at NSMT on opening night, and I brought my 3 boys, ages 11 and 8 year old twins. They moaned and groaned the whole way there, but once the show started they sat transfixed with mouths... Expand

  I saw Tarzan at NSMT on opening night, and I brought my 3 boys, ages 11 and 8 year old twins. They moaned and groaned the whole way there, but once the show started they sat transfixed with mouths open. The cast was phenomenal - all the leads were perfectly cast and had great voices. The supporting cast (the gorillas) were fun, but underutilized. I would have liked to see more dancing and acrobatics. Tarzan and Jane had great chemistry and Tarzan looked excellent in his loincloth. The show went on a bit too long - they could have dropped a song or two - but overall, great fun! Collapse
