On Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Arsenal Center for the Arts invites the community to celebrate its fifth anniversary at a free open house, Open Arts Day. Open Arts Day will showcase the diverse programming of the Arsenal Center for the Arts, as well as its four resident companies: New Repertory Theatre, Watertown Children’s Theatre, Quilters’ Connection and Improv Jones. Throughout the day there will be performances, live music, family fun, demonstrations and workshops in art and theatre and more. New England Conservatory, F.U.D.G.E. Theatre, storyteller Li Min Mo, and author Sage Stossel will also participate, adding to the variety of activities: teen theatre, book readings, print-making and pottery workshops, quilting demonstrations, Broadway dance instruction, classical and jazz live performances and other events. In addition, every registrant will receive a ticket to be entered into a raffle for free theatre tickets or arts workshop tuitions! All events and activities are family-friendly, free and open to the public.
