    This year's final Emerging Filmmakers screening is coming up on June 9th. We proudly present two works by Emerson grad Benjamin Brewer, including Beneath Contempt -- official selection at Slamdance Film Festival, Independent Film Festival of Boston and Brooklyn Film Festival.

    Brewer's first feature, shot on 16mm and finished on video, explores the aftermath of a drunk driving accident that kills three teens and sends one to prison. After his release, Sean returns to his hometown to face a community that is still reeling from the tragedy. "Using just the bare minimum of plot points the film manages to build tremendous tension and keep the viewer wondering what will unfold from scene to scene." (Jeff Silva, series curator)
