    High Summer Celebrates 30!

The July program recalls some MEE's best moments with two appealing pieces by Howard Rovics, commissioned by MEE in 2006 and 2008, and inspired by the North Shore's rich seafaring and literary history. Narrated by celebrated actor Gordon Baird, Journey, A Seagoing Narrative with Music is based on Richard Henry Dana's book Two Years Before the Mast, evoking the era of tall sailing ships. The second piece, "Listening to the Sea Winds," celebrates the poetry of Vincent Ferrini, the late Poet of Gloucester, whose work is woven into the music. Both pieces are a treat for theatre and poetry lovers, history buffs and music aficionados!
