OUTSIDE THE CITY

With spring in full bloom and summer upon us, what better to way to kick off the season than to get outdoors and celebrate National Trails Day (NTD)? While the official date for this annual event is on June 4th this year, The Trustees of Reservations, the nation’s oldest statewide land trust, have events planned at multiple locations around the state – many in or near your community -- throughout the month June. Events include hikes, guided walks, volunteer workdays, trail steward, design and maintenance training workshops, and more. All events are designed to invigorate your body and mind while spending some quality time with family and friends enjoying and/or pitching in at a favorite outdoor place in your community. June 5th from 2:30-4 PM: Cape Pogue Wildlife Refuge Marine Debris Clean Up. The shores of Martha’s Vineyard can be a trap for all kinds of marine debris, and we need lots of help to keep it clean.
