Please welcome the return of the Tough Love Trio to Chianti Jazz Lounge - this time with very special guest, legendary baritone saxophonist Danny Harrington! The show starts at 9:00pm. Chianti is famous for it's consistently warm hospitality, preeminent menu & bar selection, and a classic, relaxing ambiance that features some of the best local & national musical talent.
The Tough Love Trio is comprised of three exceptionally active musicians in the Boston music scene. Their repertoire consists of standard/not-so-standard, contemporary, and original jazz compositions, in the classic lineup of guitar, double bass, and drums.
Individually they have recorded and performed internationally with a wide array of diverse artists, and appeared on numerous radio and television programs. Collectively, these assured stylists deliver an elegant, mature, and distinctive brand of jazz that has earned glowing reviews among contemporaries and clients alike.
Renowned baritone saxophonist & educator Danny Harrington has been a Professor of Music at Berklee College of Music since 1978, and teaches the theory of American popular music from the early 20th century to the present. Before joining the faculty at Berklee College, Danny toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra under the direction of Buddy Morrow. Since then he has performed with Nick Brignola, Gary Burton, Herb Pomeroy, Gary Smulyan, Joe Lovano, George Garzone as well as leading his own group since 1980. Danny is a Vandoren artist, and uses Vandoren reeds, mouthpieces & ligatures exclusively.
