T'ai Chi Ch'uan is the 4,000-year-old Chinese art of meditation in motion. It promotes mental, emotional, and physical health by combining movement, meditation, relaxation, and self defense. The ultimate in no-impact aerobics, T’ai Chi increases blood flow, keeps joints flexible, and restores elasticity to muscles. This beginner’s class will focus on a series of short forms expressing the essence and spirit of a different animal, each containing ten steps or less. Through these forms, students will learn fundamental skills such as stance, step patterns, basic blocking, and whole body movement. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
