Are you a kid who always wanted to sing in an opera? The Treble Chorus of New England invites you to audition for our Fall Opera production, “How to Make an Opera”. We are looking for interested singers, ages 11-18 to audition for our Fall opera production. You must be available August 8-19th for Opera camp/ rehearsal and mini-performance. Audition dates are Mondays, June 20th and 27th at the West Parish Church, 129 Reservation Road in Andover, MA from 5-8. Please contact Anna Choi at tcnemanager@treblechorus.com or 978.794.4600 to make an appointment. See description of the Opera below.

“How to Make an Opera” brings us behind the curtains of an opera company with waring prima donnas and the exasperated opera director Mr. Baton. In an attempt to regain control over his singers and to increase public interest, Mr. Baton holds an audition for a new star in the upcoming production. Amid the hopes and dreams of would-be opera stars and jealous chorus members, the reigning divas try to convince the director how unnecessary the audition is. Mr. Baton surprises them all by saying he has already found his new star...his secretary! Tension is high at the first rehearsal of the new production, but it seems like the new star is not as naive or innocent as she seems to be. Rivalry between the singers start again and it isn’t long before Mr. Baton finds himself back in the same situation that he first started with.
