Summer in the City, a FREE, outdoor performance series, produced by the Cambridge Arts Council, takes place in parks and open spaces throughout Cambridge. Geared especially for children, families and the entire community, the series features a wide array of multicultural, interactive arts programs, performances, and activities both day and night, including music, dance, storytellers, theatrical performances, puppetry, arts & crafts, movies and more! In this performance workshop, children meet some of the most important members of the band, the instruments themselves, such as the berimbau, the munnharpa (jaw harp), and overtone singing. Fun stories, exciting rhythm games and joyous sing-a-longs, performed in up to six languages, introduce children to music from around the world in an interactive performance.
