    June 25, 2011 - October 29, 2010

    The Dirt on Argilla Road

The Andover (MA) Historical Society has a new exhibit on display: The Dirt on Argilla Road Visit and learn about Andover's fascinating Agricultural History. For those of us living and working near Andover today, it is hard to imagine that Andover was a significant farming community through the 1950s. Until the mid-1800s, most residents maintained “kitchen” farms that provided eggs, vegetables, poultry and dairy products for their families. Revisit the West Parish Farms featured in this exhibit, and imagine the dairy herds, poultry flocks and vegetable fields that once flourished in this now residential area. The exhibit will be on display June 25th-October 31st. Be sure not to miss it!
