Audition for the Boston Choral Ensemble
January 10, 2012
The Boston Choral Ensemble, one of New England’s premier chamber choirs, is currently welcoming singers in all voice parts to mid-year auditions for our 11th season on January 10th from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Known for its adventurous and imaginative programming, BCE aims to explore the extraordinary wealth of choral music with performances of the highest standard. This year’s repertoire will include Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Whitacre’s Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, and Tavener’s Butterfly Dreams, as well as several works by British composer Judith Weir.
Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm at Old South Church in Boston.
Auditioners are invited to join the current membership for an open rehearsal on January 10th at 6:30 pm, where you will have a chance to meet current members, join in learning some of our repertoire, and get a general feel for the group. Individual auditions will begin at approximately 8:00 pm, and we expect them to end by 9:30 pm.
The audition itself will take approximately 10 minutes and will include sight-singing and some basic vocalizing. You do not need to prepare anything or bring an audition piece.
We will announce the results of the audition process on Wednesday, January 11. Please visit www.bostonchoral.org or email email@example.com for more information or to reserve an audition slot.
