Behind the Masks: Exploring the Great Masters of Comedy and Tragedy

Directed by Fran Weinberg, this Advanced Performance Intensive class features an exciting range of both comedic and tragic scenes performed by teen actors building upon their prior training and stage experience. The students have received careful attention to their individual strengths and weaknesses and have been challenged to take risks with their work. The focus of the program is on deepening ensemble and individual character development skills through work on a wide variety of scenes from some of the most well regarded plays in history. Selections include scenes from Euripides’s "Helen", Moliere’s "Learned Ladies", Ibsen’s "Hedda Gabler", and Shaw’s "Arms and The Man".
