The Harvard Film Archive will host the Boston-area premiere of Island Universe, artist and MacArthur Fellow Josiah McElheny’s evocative film exploring the origins of the universe, the Big Bang theory, and J. & L. Lobmeyr’s Space-Age chandeliers for New York’s Metropolitan Opera House. Screening followed by a discussion with Melissa Franklin, Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics, and Chair, Department of Physics, Harvard University, and Helen Molesworth, Chief Curator, Institute of Contemporary Art.
This film screening is made possible by funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and is cosponsored by the Harvard Film Archive.
