Superstar countertenor Philippe Jaroussky returns to the Boston concert stage after his breathtaking performance in the BEMF 2011 centerpiece opera, Niobe, Regina di Tebe, in a concert with Apollo's Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra. Led by jeannette Sorrell, Apollo's Fire has been recoginzed as one of the world's finest period-instrument orchestras, earning attention for their "expressive subtlety, exuberance and passion" (Classical Music Magazine). Delight as these exceptional artists explore the full dramatic rage of Handel adn Vivaldi arias for the virtuoso castrato singers of the 18th century. A selection of fiery Vivaldi concertos rounds out an evening of glorious music.
