Regina Carter, Violin
September 24, 2011
Regina Carter is credited by the LA Times with “almost single-handedly reviving interest in the violin as a jazz instrument” and praised in the New York Times for the “dark-maple sweetness” of her tone. On her album Reverse Thread, Carter “does much more than replace the singer's voice with the sound of the violin… She brings us deep into the songs' emotional core” (Wall Street Journal). Rockport Music is pleased to present Ms. Carter in a return engagement at the Shalin Liu Performance Center, after her successful debut on July 24, 2010. Families are encouraged to attend and complimentary tickets are available for youth 18 and younger.
