MUSIC
sounds, echoes & wandering strains: Schubert, Poulenc, Larsen, Brahms
Presented by Chameleon Arts Ensemble of Boston at Goethe-Institut Boston
November 13, 2011
Artists have long reached lovingly into the past, seeking inspiration in the work of previous generations. Brahms' thorough study of Schubert gave birth to a pinnacle of the genre, Poulenc combines classical forms with his trademark French wit and elan, and Libby Larsen draws on 1940's popular musical language and rhythms of contemporary American English.
