The Salem Theatre Company is excited to present the Boston String Quartet on Friday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the STC Theater, 90 Lafayette Street in Salem. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door.

The critically acclaimed Boston String Quartet (“a once in a lifetime experience” – Peoria Star) will present their program “WorldSong” which is touring this fall throughout New England. “It ain’t your grandma’s traditional string quartet,” says Gary LaParl, Executive Director of STC. “It’s a fresh and original blend of music from throughout the world. The program will include a mix of music including Zydeco, Taiwense Folk, American Fiddle, Bulgarian, Gospel, Salsa, and more.”

If you think that string quartet music is boring, and that violins and cellos play only Bach and Beethoven music, then you will be mightily surprised by this unconventional group of string players that have been thrilling audiences from coast to coast with their unique compositions and daring approach.

The Boston String Quartet has had the opportunity to collaborate with John Mayer, the Boston Ballet, Jennifer Holliday, Lisa Fisher, Tim Janis, Dave Fiucznyski, as well as to perform sold out performances at Symphony Hall, the Los Angeles Music Awards, and PBS.
