Klezmer and Elephants and Belly Dancers...Oh My!!
Two powerhouses of the Boston music scene are joining forces for the first time ever at Johnny D's Uptown on September 28th. Klezwoods and Elephant Wrecking Ball will be putting on a show to be remembered at this classic Davis Sq. venue.
Klezwoods has been playing all over the greater Boston area for the past 3 years and always puts on a memorable performance. Showcasing the stylings of classic klezmer and Balkan music fused with modern grooves, improvisation, and melodies, Klezwoods blends both old and new in an exciting way that has captivated audiences from Somerville to Helsinki! An unorthodox trombone trio with a powerful and organic sound, Elephant Wrecking Ball is unlike anything you've ever heard before. They perform music utilizing unique, scientific tones of fully cosmic demolition, and are influenced by everything from death metal to heavy dub. As an icing on this Klezephant cake...both bands will be featuring belly dancing from the lovely and talented Cassandra from Boston and Hybrid from Portland, Oregon!
