    John Badalament is the author of the acclaimed Modern Dad’s Dilemma: How To Stay Connected with Your Kids in a Rapidly Changing World (New World Library, 2010) and Director of the PBS documentary All Men Are Sons: Exploring The Legacy of Fatherhood. His work has been featured on ABC News, NPR, in Men’s Health, Mom Magazine, L.A. Times, Boston Globe and Rocky Mt. News. John is a Harvard-trained educator with twenty years experience as a teacher, dean of students, and counselor in school and clinical settings for children, teens, and adults. For the last three years John has been recognized in the New York Times by the Family Violence Prevention Fund for his commitment to ending violence against women and children. John’s latest documentary project is entitled Gender Traps: How Marriage Problems Start In Kindergarten. Badalament draws on the innovative ideas and activities found in his acclaimed Modern Dads Dilemma, his work with thousands of parents, children and professionals across America and abroad, and his cutting-edge research. With in-depth knowledge of changing family structures and gender roles today, John works with parents, students, and educators in co-ed and single sex environments, ECE and K-12. The Modern Dad’s Dilemma: How To Stay Connected With Your Kids in a Rapidly Changing World is loaded with powerful insights, road-tested activities from his pioneering workshops, and inspiring stories from over a decade of working with dads, children, families, and educators across the country. Tonight he will share his latest thoughts with us.

    Buckman Tavern is located off of Massachusetts Avenue and Bedford Street, across from the Lexington Battle Green. Free two hour parking is available around the Lexington Battle Green, or you may park behind the Lexington Depot Building for $2/day.
