Anthony da Costa & Anna Vogelzang CD Release
October 25, 2011
Anthony da Costa’s music combines folk, rock, Americana and pop, plus what it’s like to be a “very young man with a very old soul” (legendary New York DJ Pete Fornatale). Now nearing 20 and a sophomore at Columbia University, in 2009, Anthony was named an MSNBC.com “Top 5 Up-&-Coming Younger Singer.” In 2008, he released two critically-acclaimed albums and as a Folk Alliance “Emerging Artist of the Year” nominee. In 2007, at 16, he became the youngest winner ever at the Falcon Ridge and Kerrville Folk Festivals.
Anna Vogelzang, unavoidably soulful singer/songwriter and newly-transplanted Midwesterner sings the best kind of songs, the ones about feelings. She has shared the stage with Regina Spektor, Deer Tick, Amanda Palmer and others. The Huffington Post says that she “has a penchant for playfulness when it comes to her music; however, when she gets serious, few craft a better folk song.”
