    Silvia Dominguez will discuss findings from her book Getting Ahead: Social Mobility, Public Housing and Immigrant Networks, based on close to three years of comparative ethnographic field work in South and East Boston. While most of the women who were studied were getting ahead through education and jobs with the potential for advancement, sexual and gendered violence held others back.
