From the time he first hit the stage with his first band, The Babys, in the late 70's and cranked out hits like 'If You've Got The Time,' 'Back On My Feet Again,' 'Every Time I Look At You,' 'Head First,' and 'Isn't It Time,' it wasn't hard to tell that John Waite was headed for stardom. Then as a solo artist, he continued to release a string of all-time classics like "Change" and "I Ain't Missing You" throughout the 80's. After that, he teamed up with famed Journey members Neil Schon and Deen Castronovo as well as Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips (from The Babys) to form the super-group Bad English in the late 80's - early 90's and released even more hits like "Price of Love," "Straight To Your Heart," and "When I See You Smile." Finally, he once again embraced his solo career and continued his success through the 90's and up until today, which included the release of chart-breakers "In Dreams" and "How Did I Get By Without You.". Turn the page to 2010 and we find the ever-evolving British singer/songwriter releasing "In Real Time", an electrifying live album recorded with his high-octane three-piece band in Orlando, Florida in 2009. "When I set out to do this record, I wanted to simplify it down to what I remember rock and roll being as a kid, a three-piece band with a singer, so it's very raw and right on the edge." His new album, "Rough & Tumble", spawned the title track to a #1 hit on classic rock radio and follow-up single "If You Ever Get Lonely" was co-written by Kyle Cook of Matchbox Twenty.
Waite now prefers to balance his life between singing on stage and composing and recording honest, heartfelt solo albums. He has written and recorded several songs for feature films. He even enjoyed a brief stint a few years ago on a Ringo Starr concert tour. Not one to be deterred by the changing face of the music industry, he is content in simply being true to himself and his art. And now, with a career spanning over three decades, John Waite is nothing short of a legend in the industry.
