OUTSIDE THE CITY

The 70th annual lighting of Boston's official Christmas Tree is on December 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The celebration is hosted by Mayor Thomas M. Menino, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, with the title sponsor of the Province of Nova Scotia.

As an added element to the City of Boston's annual tree lighting ceremony, The Skating Club of Boston will present a spectacular skating preshow at 5:00 pm at the Frog Pond featuring a dynamic and exciting assortment of local skating stars in all various disciplines of ice-skating.
