Filmmaker Ori Sivan prefers rock to classical music. But his great hero is Zubin Mehta, the artistic director and conductor-for-life of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. In this unconventional documentary with humor and seriousness, Sivan trains his wry lens on Mehta’s passionate conducting and complex relationship with his musicians. Sivan’s grandmother is the earliest harpist of the Israeli Philharmonic; she shares her life as a musician, contrasting with Mehta’s career. In English with Hebrew subtitles
