New Program at the Boston Center for Adult Education Offers Theater-Goers
a Behind-the-Scenes Look at Local Theaters and Performances
WHAT: From the warm islands of the South Pacific, to the romantic cobble-stone streets in Italy, no destination is too far or wide for the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE)! This fall the BCAE is at it again, this time offering theater-goers near and far a chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most talked-about shows in Boston and the theaters that they are held in at the new class series, “Behind the Curtain.”
Last month students entered the historic doors of the Boston Opera House where they were given an exclusive tour of one of the city’s most storied theaters, and afterwards were “flown” to French Polynesia for a specially discounted performance of South Pacific compliments of Broadway Across America.
On Thursday, November 10th, 2011, escape to fair Verona during a performance of Romeo and Juliet, complete with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the Boston Ballet headquarters, one of the largest and best-equipped dance spaces in the country. Students will witness the magic that makes the performance while touring the headquarters, costume shop and rehearsal space before putting the splendor of it all together at a performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Boston Opera House! The enchantment continues after the show, as students are invited to the official after party, Offstage, at BiNA osteria where they’ll mingle with the performers and Ballet patrons.
