    Mendelssohn Violin Concerto

Presented by at NEC's Jordan Hall

    December 3, 2011

    Mendelssohn Violin Concerto

Guest conductor Edward Jones joins the Longwood Symphony Orchestra to explore three Romantic German works. The program begins with the overture to Weber’s whimsical opera, "Oberon." Violin virtuoso Bella Hristova performs Mendelssohn’s celebrated Violin Concerto. Written upon his return from a trip to Germany’s Rhineland, Schumann’s “Rhenish” Symphony depicts the beauty of the lands surrounding the Rhine River. This concert benefits the Sharewood Project, a free clinic led by students and faculty of Tufts University School of Medicine.
