"Ghosts of Weimar" is a peculiar amalgamation of jazz and classical styles evoking the cabaret ambience of the 1920s. Featuring a line-up of songs by Tom Lehrer, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, and a premiere of arrangements of William Bolcom's cabaret songs, "Ghosts of Weimar" explores a range of sentiments and themes from the tragi-comic to the scandalous to the mundane.This performance features the talents of vocalist Elissa Alvarez (Handel and Haydn Society), trumpeter Shawn Hershey (the Fried Bananas), bassist Benjamin Reynolds (The Jeff Michaels Band), pianist and arranger Alexandre Abdoulaev, and percussionist Joshua Ziemann.
