Following last year’s successful show, Newpoli is back performing Christmas carols from the folk tradition of various Italian regions such as Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Basilicata and Sicilia. The repertoire will include traditional folk prayers, simple but spirited in their melodies, and captivating tarantellas that will make you dance. Joining the group on stage will be members of 7 Hills Renaissance Wind Band (www.7hillsband.com), performing on historical instruments and bringing the audience back to a Naples of centuries ago. Also featured this year will be a Christmas reading in Neapolitan dialect to add to the Southern Italian atmosphere of the evening’s holiday celebration. English translation will be provided.
