When it comes to saxophonist Grace Kelly, people seem to be divided into two groups: those who marvel at her proficiency, creativity and ever-accelerating growth, and those who have yet to encounter the 19-year-old wunderkind. Grace has won several Down Beat Student Music Awards and a pair of ASCAP Young Composer Foundation Awards, among many other kudos. She has played with such artists as Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Phil Woods, Dave Brubeck, and Hank Jones. In 2009 Downbeat magazine named her as one of the "Alto Saxophone Rising Stars," the youngest ever to be named so. Grace will be playing selections from her latest CD, entitled "Mood Changes."
