On the first annual Holiday House Tour, organized by the Guild of Volunteers of the Concord Museum, seven of historic Concord’s most beautiful private homes will be professionally decorated in the holiday spirit by local and Boston-based interior designers. From 11:00-4:00 on Saturday, December 3rd, guests will be welcomed inside the front doors of these gracious private residences to visit the charming ground floor rooms. From Colonial to Victorian to Shingle Style and more, each house will be decorated in a different holiday theme. The decorators have brought a fresh and festive approach to their designs, whether the inspiration was a still-growing family collection of over fifty Santas, a house steeped in history, or an art collection acquired on travels abroad. The Concord Museum welcomes you to spend the day in Concord, a small town with a big history, and enjoy the elegant streets, charming cafés and shops, as well as the many historic homes.

Participating designers for the 2011 Holiday House Tour are All Seasons Decorating, Hope Beckman Design, Bovey Steers Design, Lauren Huyett Interiors, Kate McCusker of Theodore & Company, Rachel Reider Interiors Inc., Kristen Rivoli Interior Design, and Katie Rosenfeld Design.

Tickets are available in advance through November 29th in Concord at the Concord Museum, at Tess & Carlos at 81 Main Street, and at Enclave at 51 Commonwealth Avenue, or by phone (978) 369-9763. Advance tickets are $40 Concord Museum Members; $45 Non-Members. $50 Day of Tickets may be purchased on December 3rd at the Concord Museum beginning at 11:00. On the day of the tour, all ticket holders must pick up their House Tour maps at the Concord Museum on Cambridge Turnpike.

The Tour is generously sponsored by area businesses including The Attias Group Real Estate, Affinity Builders, Kistler & Knapp Builders Inc., Crown Point Cabinetry, Hope Beckman Design, Boston Design Center, WTI Window Treatment Installation, Thoreauly Antiques, and Concord Lamp & Shade.

Proceeds from the Holiday House Tour benefit the Concord Museum’s education initiatives. As an educational resource for Concord and the region, the Museum—now celebrating its 125th anniversary—is open 362 days a year and annually attracts more than 35,000 visitors from Greater Boston, as well as from all 50 states and 20 countries. Public programs foster a life-long love of history, literature, community culture and decorative arts. The Museum’s curriculum-based school programs reach 7,000 schoolchildren from 85 Massachusetts communities and 22 states, and teacher-training workshops are provided annually for educators at all levels.
