Composer-pianist Timothy “Timo” Andres will perform with conductor Julian Pellicano and the Longy Conservatory Orchestra (LCO) at Edward M. Pickman Hall on Friday, December 2, 2011 (8:00 p.m.). At 26, Andres has quickly made a name for himself in New York’s fast-paced and eclectic contemporary music scene—a member of New York’s “Sleeping Giant” composers collective, his work has been commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall, among others. December 2 marks the Boston premier his work Home Stretch.

In addition to Home Stretch, Pellicano will lead the LCO through Bach’s Musiakalisches Opfer, Ricercare a 6 (reimagined in the 20th century by Anton Webern), Ives’ The Unanswered Question, and Stravisnky’s Pulcinella Suite.
