Boston Neighborhood History Series: South Boston

Come hear the fascinating past of the storied neighborhood of “Southie.” Robert Allison, Chair of History at Suffolk University, explains how South Boston grew rapidly with the railroad, becoming a hub of industry filled with iron foundries, machine shops, shipyards, and refineries, and how its population exploded with Irish immigrants fleeing famine and seeking employment.
