Nick Zammuto, local favorite of the Books, unveils his hotly anticipated new band Zammuto. The four-piece band’s concert debut will focus on cuts from Zammuto, also featuring classic and never-before-performed tracks from The Books, and a screening of the short film Achantè. “The Books have grown to become one of modern music's most genuine innovators. The Way Out continues the Books' tradition of meticulous, existential songcraft, infusing the playfully surreal elements of previous albums with a humorous, childlike excitement.” – Amazon review of The Books' most recent album. The concert begins with a screening of the 35-minute film Achantè, for which Zammuto wrote the score. The film is a portrait of Haitian Vodou, featuring four communities in the south of Haiti and paralleling the Vodou creation story with the historical creation of the free nation of Haiti.
