Elliott Kai-Kee, Education Specialist, J. Paul Getty Museum; Rika Burnham, Head of Education, The Frick Collection

Burnham and Kai-Kee, authors of Teaching in the Art Museums: Interpretation as Experience, consider what constitutes a meaningful experience of art, and how museum educators can help to create such encounters. At 6pm Kai-Kee will offer a history of museum education, and at 7pm Burnham will discuss knowledge and freedom in the context of museum teaching. Before the lectures, meet in the Sackler lobby at 2pm for a discussion with Kai-Kee and a book signing and reception with both authors at 5pm. Copies of Teaching in the Art Museum will be available for sale at the signing.

    Free admission.

Limited complimentary parking at Broadway Garage, 7 Felton Street (for lectures only).

The M. Victor Leventritt Fund was established through the generosity of the wife, children, and friends of the late M. Victor Leventritt, Harvard Class of 1935. The purpose of the fund is to present outstanding scholars of the history and theory of art to the Harvard and Greater Boston communities.
