Nerissa and Katryna Nields grew up singing folk songs in the kitchen and in the back seat of the family car. Katryna learned to sing melody with their father, while Nerissa tackled the harmonies. From those humble beginnings the Nields have been the darlings of the coffeehouse/festival scene since 1991, with tunes ranging from off-the-hook idiosyncratic to kicking to heartbreaking. They’ve played at large venues like Lillith Fair, and at large festivals including the Newport Folk Festival. Come to see them up close and personal at Stone Soup.
